Pendragon Galahad Buttoned Barrels are crafted by drawing a precision-engineered, tungsten carbide-coated button through a carefully drilled and reamed barrel blank. Selecting the right lubricant is crucial to protecting the barrel and preventing tool damage during this process. The operation is performed on a Unisig CNC-controlled machine, which ensures precise and consistent twist rates—something more challenging to achieve with analogue machines.

After rifling, each barrel must undergo an in-house stress-relieving process, which we conduct to meet our exact standards. Once stress-relieved, each barrel is meticulously hand-lapped for a flawless finish and thoroughly gauged for accuracy in dimension and straightness.

When done properly, a buttoned barrel can deliver performance as precise as barrels made using traditional methods. A Pendragon TVA Special buttoned barrel secured the prestigious 2023 King’s Prize at Bisley—a remarkable achievement, especially considering it was the only one of our barrels in the competition.

Blanks are supplied an inch longer for finishing.
